Commissioner Profiles


Peter J. Corr

Peter J. Corr is currently serving as a Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commissioner. 

Peter has been a Police Officer for over 24 years. Mr. Corr is a member of the Dive Team, Motorcycle Unit and an E-Board member of the Patrolman’s Union.

Mr. Corr has a Master’s Degree from Western New England. He is the father of one son and an avid sports fan. In his spare time he enjoys spending time on his boat.

William J. Strojny

William J. Strojny serves as the Chairman of the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commission. 

Bill is a retired TMLP employee, serving the City of Taunton for nearly 40 years in several different capacities. He has the unique perspective of having worked in Finance, Energy Services, Communications and Customer Service where he served as Department Manager for his last six years of employment.  Over his tenure, Bill was directly involved in the creation and implementation most of the Green and Energy Efficiency programs that exist today at TMLP.

Bill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Stonehill College.  He is married with two sons and a daughter, and is an avid golfer and musician.


Gregory C. DeMelo

Gregory C. DeMelo is currently serving as the Secretary of the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commission.

Greg is the Director of Travel & Special Projects within the Division of Finance at Bridgewater State University. Greg has full responsibility for implementing an institutional travel policy for over 11,000 students and 2,500 faculty and staff. This includes negotiating contracts, supervising support staff, as well as managing vendor relations.

Greg has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Massachusetts. He is a four-term member of the Taunton School Committee, currently serving as Chairperson and is also a member of the Athletics and Finance & Law sub-committees.
